NO SUGAR Homemade Jam for kids (and adults)

No sugar homemade jam for kids (Kinder Marmelade ohne Zucker)  - This healthy homemade jam with berries only requires you 4 simple ingredients, which are easily available. No refined sugar added! This recipe is extremely simple and quick to recreate at home. Not only that, this homemade fruit jam is not restricted to babies and kids, it can be enjoyed by adults as well!

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Storage Jar

Ingredients you need

  • 120 g Frozen berries
  • 60 g Dried Dates or other natural sweeteners such as honey and agave syrup
  • 50 ml Water
  • 10 g Agar Agar Powder

Extra

  • Boiling Water

Directions

  • Melt the frozen berries in a suitable pot over medium heat until the berries thawed completely. Let the fruits cool down a little.
  • To ease the blending process, cut the dried dates into tiny chunks. Dried dates act as natural sweeteners in this case. You can use other natural sweeteners such as honey, agave syrup as well.
  • Transfer fruits, dates and water into a blender. Mix the ingredients until it is smooth and without chunks. Due to the small amount of homemade jam, I would not recommend using a hand blender to blend the ingredients. This is because the ingredients will not mix well enough.
    HOMEMADE JAM
  • After which, pour the mixture back into the pot and bring to boil. Thereafter, add in the agar-agar powder.
    HOMEMADE JAM
  • Pour boiling water into a suitable jar and put the lid on. Thereafter, turn the jar over to sterilize the jar for about 5 minutes. Be careful because the jar is very hot, so make sure you wear a pair of oven gloves to protect yourself. Pour the water away.
  • Transfer the homemade jam into the storage jar, cover the lid and let the jam cool down.
    HOMEMADE JAM
  • Serve the sugar-free homemade fruit jam with your favourite bread or bread rolls. This homemade jam can be enjoyed by kids and adults. If your baby is ready for solids, you can let him try this jam as well. Please consult your doctor beforehand or just observe the development of your baby.
