Do not be fooled by the title! This organic cookies recipe is not just restricted to toddlers. Adults can definitely enjoy this recipe as well. These cookies only require THREE ingredients and they are absolutely organic! Did I mention that these healthy pieces of snacks are effortless to make? No? Now you know it. In our fast paced society, who does not like quick and easy recipes? I know I do!
As my toddler son (JJ) grows older each day, I realise that he is getting more interested in what we adults eat. He would want to lick the vanilla ice-cream on my hand or try the piece of cake that I am currently eating (Thank God that he is not a fan of chocolates yet because he thinks that chocolate is dirt. Wait till he tries his first piece of Milka chocolate. Ohh…so good! ).
Please do not get me wrong. We do not eat a ton of sugary food nor are we completely against sugar. Two pieces of chocolate and some ice-cream would not do much harm.
Currently, we only allow him to eat fruit yoghurt occasionally, fruit jam for breakfast and a tiny piece of cake on birthdays because we do not want him to develop a sweet tooth at such a young age. There is still a long way to go. Additionally, he does not really know how to properly brush his teeth yet.
In order to `compensate‘ for this situation, I like to opt for healthier organic alternatives such as sugarless organic cookies. Commercial baby snacks are delicious and my toddler enjoys them as well. However, they could quickly add up to our monthy expenses and by baking on my own, I know exactly what goes into these cookies.
Since Christmas is almost around the corner, I thought I would share this simple 3 ingredients organic cookies recipe with you. This recipe is especially suitable for busy mums looking for natural alternative snacks out there for their toddlers and yet without having to sacrifice the taste buds of their tiny human beings.
Ingredients for Organic Cookies
Like I mentioned before, in order to make these organic cookies, you only require 3 ingredients – organic spelt flour, organic butter and some organic agave syrup.
-
Organic wholemeal spelt flour is very popular and common in Germany. Spelt flour is famous for its high nutritional value and health benefits such as reducing the risk of heart disease and diabetes.
-
Organic butter, you can also substitute it with high quality grassfed butter such as Irish butter. My favorite brand is Kerrygold Butter (This post is not sponsored in anyway. We truely love this brand and have been using this brand of butter for years now.) Take out butter of the fridge a few hours before baking. This will soften the butter and makes it easier to work with.
-
Organic agave syrup is meant to be an alternative to sugar. It acts as a sweetener for our cookies.

Roll dough into balls and place them on a parchment lined baking tray. Press dough balls down with a fork.
Bake organic cookies in preheated oven for about 12 minutes or until they turned brown. Let the cookies cool down completely and store them in a jar. Consume these healthy cookies within 2 weeks.
